Curious about the brain?

We invite applications for funded PhD positions in neural signal processing, brain-network analysis, and AI for neuroscience at AI-NE Lab, MFS-BSBE, IIT Indore. Highly motivated undergraduate and master's students with a background in Biomedical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Students will work on research involving EEG/MEG/SEEG signal processing, machine learning, and brain-network modelling, often with clinical and human-participant data.

M.Tech openings: M.Tech students can take up thesis and project work on neural signal processing, brain-network modelling, and machine learning for neural data, with scope to contribute to ongoing lab research.

Undergraduate openings: research projects are available for students who want experience in signal processing, brain-network analysis, or interpretable machine learning for neural data.

What you'll gain

  • Hands-on work with real clinical and human neural data: EEG, MEG, and intracranial SEEG.
  • Modern signal processing plus machine-learning and AI skills that transfer far beyond the lab.
  • A seat at the intersection of medicine, engineering, and AI, where few people can work.

Who thrives here

Curious people who like hard problems. You might come from biomedical, electrical, computer engineering, physics, mathematics, or CS; degrees matter less than drive. If you enjoy coding, are not scared of maths, and want your work to touch real brains and real patients, you'll fit in.

No neuroscience background yet? That's fine. Several of the best ideas come from people learning the brain for the first time. Bring the curiosity; we'll build the rest together.
